  • Squirrel Nut Juice Image 1

We went over-the-top nuts with our Coffee Nut Brown Ale. Brewed with a special roast of almond-toasted, cold-pressed coffee beans and aged on a bed of amaretto-soaked wood chips. It’s out of the woods nutty! A collaboration between Stellenbosch Brewing Co., Terbodore Coffee Roasters and American brewer & cicerone, Joey Johnson.

  • The Avenue Lager Image 1

A Bohemian Pilsner brewed in our Czech brewhouse with Saaz hops and cold conditioned for 6 weeks. Full of flavour and balanced by a crisp, dry finish. Legend has it that to be a truly inspired Stellie you need to have an acorn hit you on the head, totally flunked out in at least one exam and kissed someone special in The Avenue…in this case a kiss of Saaz!

A work of persistence and years of blending various hop combinations and hopping techniques to arrive at a revolutionary combination of flavours. We dedicated this brew to the long walk to South Africa's freedom, chasing dreams and devotion to one’s true passion.

From Blue Feather Bedouins via the Hoenderhok to stellar beers – an adventure in chemistry

    by Craig Claassen

We hear it a lot; we see it in movies, the wonders of the world somehow explained with one word. Awesome song writers who work in pairs, two politicians who complement one another to change the world for better or worse. There is magic in it, there is science in it, there is something quite remarkable about the way that it makes us feel when we meet somebody who shares in it. In beer, your hops can shine or get hidden, because of it. The word of course is chemistry.
